Alan Cumming - Biography; photo wallpapers; Megawallpapers.org: Alan Cumming was born on January 27, 1965. He lived near Dunkeld, Scotland, where his father was a forester. His family (mother is Mary, father is Alex and brother is Tom who is 6 years older) moved to Fassfem on the west coast of Scotland and when he was 4 they moved to Panmure Estate. Alan went to Carnoustie High School with 8 'O' grades in English, Math, Arithmetic, History, French, Music, Chemistry, and Latin. He also graduated with 4 Highers in English, French, Music, and History. He attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and studied drama for three years. He made Prague, Second Best and Circle of Friends before making more films in America. His role as the Emcee in the Broadway revival of Cabaret was one of the most celebrated performances in years. He won the Tony Drama desk award for his performance, along with the Theater World, New York Free Press, Outer Critics Circle and New York Public Advocate's awards. He was also nominated for a Lawrence Olivier award for Best Actor for Cabaret in 1994 and was inducted into the Vanity Fair Hall of fame for his work in Cabaret. He has won numerous awards and was nominated for his work in theater. Alan wrote his first novel, 'Tommy's Tale', which was published in 2002. [br]
