Stella, a scripted adaptation of Black, Showalter and Wain's popular stage show, has received a 10-episode order for a summer launch. Black, Showalter and Wain also are executive producing the project, which chronicles the misadventures of a trio of modern-day Marx Brothers who face absurdist obstacles. In Con, Stone uses his smarts and creativity to con his way through life. Stone, Rick DeOliveira, Matt Sloan, Chris Cox, Chris Bender and JC Spink are executive producing the show, which has been picked up for eight episodes to premiere in April. Comedy Central first greenlighted pilots for Stella and Con in November as part of an ambitious development slate for 2005. Several projects on that slate are still in contention for a series pickup.
