Angelica Agurbash, Belarus Wallpapers

Angelica Agurbash : Angelica Agurbash looks set to change the song she will sing at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest after it has faired badly in Internet polls. The singer, who will represent Belarus at the 50th contest, is said to be considering two possible replacements for ‘Boys and Girls’. One song ‘Love Me For Tonight’ comes from the Greek team of Nikos Terzis and Nektarios Tirakis, the other, ‘Show Me Your Love, Honey’ is from Israeli contest veteran Zvika Pick. Alex Kolesnikov of BTRC, stated that the change has not yet been confirmed, "This decision has to come down to Angelica's management and producers. The EBU informed us earlier that we could make any changes to the song before Head of delegations meeting on 21 March." In late 2003, a number of songs were performed for televoters, who picked three possible Eurovision entries. After this, the Belarussian Ministry of Culture took over the selection, cutting out the national broadcaster. Agurbash was picked for Kiev. Although a replacement of the song would not cause any problems in terms of EBU rules for the Eurovision Song Contest, any move to do this, would technically infringe the rules set by BTRC. It is expected that the Ministry of Culture will have the final say. After ‘Boys and Girls’ was selected for Eurovision, many polls and message boards hosted by unofficial Eurovision sites slated the song. Agurbash headed to London to re-record the song and improve her English. A video of the song was planned. It is an open secret that as criticism of her song increased, she began looking for possible alternatives. Already up to five songs have been recorded by different writers from different countries. As a guest at the recent Greek national final, where she sang ‘Boys and Girls’, Terzis approached her with the song now in the running. Terzis wrote the 2004 and 2001 Greek Eurovision songs, both of which ended in third place. Zvika Pick last entered the contest in 2002 with ‘Hasta La Vista’, the debut song for Ukraine.
