She is best known for her role in the television series Gilmore Girls and for the films Tuck Everlasting, Sin City, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Bledel was born to an Argentine father, Martin Bledel, and a Mexican mother of French and German descent, Nanette Dozier; and has a younger brother, Eric David Bledel. Her native language is Spanish. Her hobbies are reading, hiking, taking photographs, and spending time with her family and friends.
