Tata Nano car - photo wallpapers: Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata unveiling the Rs. 1 lakh car ‘Tata Nano’ at the 9th Auto Expo in New Delhi on Thursday. The Tata Group has launched its most awaited revolutionary car at [br]Pragati Maidan. Ratan Tata's dream car, Nano has been unveiled at the [br]ninth Auto Expo'08. With regards to the name 'Nano' Ratan Tata [br]said, "People suggested names like Mamta, Buddhu Car and several other [br]such names. But we chose to name it Nano because it connotes high [br]technology and small size." The world's cheapest car is expected [br]to revolutionise prices worldwide and has been dubbed as the "People's [br]Car". The car bears a price tag of Rs. 100,000 or 2,500 dollars. "Our [br]aim was to provide an affordable yet safe and good looking car. It was [br]a quest to lead and conquer," Ratan Tata said at the launch. Tata's Lakhtakiya Nano is aimed at getting Indian families off their motorbikes and into cars. Ratan [br]Tata himself drove the most awaited car ending months of speculations [br]and curiosity. The car has been launched in three colours, yellow, red [br]and silver. Though many apprehensions have been expressed [br]regarding the safety of the vehicle, Tata Motors made sure that the [br]launch was special. Tata said, "The car has passed the full [br]frontal and the side crash tests. There should be no worries about the [br]safety of the family." The car was launched at Hall 11, which [br]houses Tata Motors' products at the 9th Auto Expo.
